At 12 years old, Hamo Donigian was offered a job as an apprentice at a jewelry store - making coffee and cleaning windows. The master jewelers noticed that Hamo was intrigued by their work. They allowed Hamo to work on some of their jobs which further sparked his interest. Hamo wanted to expand his knowledge and, a few years later, took courses in diamond setting and hand engraving. After many years of learning from other masters, Hamo was able to achieve his dream of having his own workshop and, in 2002, opened Cabochon Settings in Southfield, MI. The workshop has become overwhelmingly successful, servicing other jewelers with repairs, engraving, and custom designs. In 2019, due to the popular demand of customers, the business expanded to include a retail storefront.
